Neel Kanase, M.D., owner of American Laser Med Spa and co-author of The Soul of Success, elaborates on the process, the importance of, and the many things laser hair removal gives to those who get treatments.
CORPUS CHRISTI, TX, February 1, 2017: Owner and Founder of American Laser Med Spa, Neel Kanase, M.D., posted a new article on his website entitled, “Laser Hair Removal Adds Confidence, Self-Esteem and Hope.” Dr. Kanase is providing a new spin on laser hair removal by focusing on what it gives as opposed to what it removes.
Kanase begins writing, “Laser hair removal is not one of the most popular cosmetic procedures just because of what it removes from their lives – the pain endured and hours spent shaving, waxing, sugaring, threading or any of the many other ways they remove hair.” He continues adding, “In my opinion it is popular because of what it gives to those who have the procedure. Laser hair removal gives people a greater sense of confidence and self-esteem. They feel more beautiful and hopeful. Some people have even said that laser hair removal has transformed their lives.”

Dr. Kanase gives a brief overview of how the procedure works. He states, “First of all, let me assure you, laser hair removal has been FDA approved for two decades. It is safe, when done properly by a trained doctor or technician, and it is virtually painless.” He begins with defining what “laser” means. He states, “The word “laser” is actually an acronym that stands for ‘Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation’.”
“Often, the term “radiation” causes a fearful reaction,” says Dr. Kanase, “since the word is also used to describe radioactive materials or ionizing radiation.” He continues clarifying, “However, in the context of laser hair removal, laser refers to an energy transfer. Energy moves from one location to another by conduction, convection, and radiation and cannot alter DNA structure.”
